The Silke Mackay School of Dance leads in the instruction of Ballet and Jazz Dance.

All our classes are held in the Holy Trinity Church Hall, Knaphill.

Our toddler classes for ages two and a half upwards introduce children to the world of ballet. Here they can benefit from the social, musical and physical aspects of ballet.

For our school-aged dancers we follow the Cecchetti method of ballet where students are able to take part in exams performances and competitions.

Our energetic jazz classes incorporate challenging routines which improve our students' fitness, strength and stamina.

Great dancers start as little dancers.

Our fun and friendly ballet classes introduce toddlers to the world of ballet. By learning the basics of music, movement, and balance your child will be well on their way to becoming an aspiring dancer.

The next step.

Our dance lessons for children, held in the HolyTrinity Church Hall, Knaphill, encourage students to build upon their dancing skills in an atmosphere that leaves them inspired to learn more.

Our use of the Cecchetti method of training, mixed with our philosophy of fun and work allows us to offer our students the best combination of success and enjoyment which they can tailor to their own wants and needs, whether that is as an enjoyable hobby or a possible future career route.

Students have the opportunity to take ISTD examinations and are encouraged to audition for  schemes such as the Cecchetti Junior & Senior Associates and the Cecchetti Scholarship program in order to further enhance their dancing towards a professional training.

We also have our own program of exciting events during the year such as performances, workshops and theatre trips. Read our blog to get a flavour of what we have been up to.

Modern dance to modern music.

Our energetic jazz class incorporates challenging routines and exciting music in order to strengthen the body and improve fitness.

While very useful as a form of exercise, our Jazz classes are also an extremely good addition to ballet as they provide the strength and flexibility needed to carry out advanced dance technique.

Why not try a trial class to see if it's for you?
